Cabo San Lucas - 2/25/2022

It was checkout day.  Since we rented a condo, we had to clean up a bit and get everything in order.  Usually, we just pack our suitcases and go.  We had to check out a day early, so we were staying at a Marriott downtown.  We also had to get our COVID tests.  We tried to see our favorite server, Alejandro Garcia, who is at a different resort, but we weren't allowed in the resort.  It was very sad for us as he's taken good care of us over the years.  So, we decided to go back to Cabo San Lucas, get some lunch and check into the hotel.

We decided to stop at Tacos Guss, which is always good.  Unfortunately, I decided to get a torta, but it was much different than the tortas we have in Mazatlan.  Honestly, the tortas in Mazatlan are our favorite.  I didn't personally like this torta, but that's ok.  It was my choice.

After lunch, we decided to try to checkin to the Marriott early.  The hotel was hosting boys soccer teams, so it was crazy busy.  We waited in the lobby to get our room, which didn't take long.  It's downtown, so it's busy and not very quiet.

We had reservations at El Peregrino (recommended by a friend), and it did not disappoint.  Probably the cheapest and best tasting meal of the trip.  Debbie had pasta with fresh shrimp, basil, and tomatoes.  It was an olive oil based pasta rather than the traditional alfredo sauce, and it was delicious.  I tried it without the shrimp to avoid certain death (allergic to seafood).  I had a Vacio, which is a variation of a flank steak.  It was cooked perfectly medium rare and had chimichurri to go with it.  We had Mexican style bruchetta (rolls with pico de gallo and parmesan), which was quiet good.  The margarhita's were amazing!  The food was spectacular and when I got the bill, I couldn't believe how cheap it was.  We will DEFINITELY go  back there.

That is our last day.  I type this from the LAX airport on our way home to Spokane.  Until next year (Mazatlan in the fall), we will see you in Cabo again.  One of our truly favorite places to vacation!!!
